The American College Center for Military and Veterans Affairs established their annual fundraising event in 2014 to honor veteran-scholars, celebrate donors and partners, and, along with the Soldier-Citizen Award, recognize leaders in the financial services industry. This year's event will include Educational Workshops, The Maury Stewart Lecture Series, a Military Resource Group Networking Lounge, and will culminate with The Soldier-Citizen Award and Scholarship Fund Dinner, where we will celebrate the 11th annual Soldier-Citizen Award recipient. The purpose of the award is to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to both the United States military and the financial services industry. In doing so, we celebrate military leadership, industry success, and the greatness of the American society. The recipient represents someone who has protected the freedoms of our society as a soldier and subsequently benefited from the opportunities provided in that society as a citizen. We strive to honor that person for their military service and the impact they have made to society, particularly enhancing others' personal financial wellness. In essence, the recipient is the ultimate citizen-soldier or, chronologically: a “soldier-citizen.”
